Pink-y glasses

For the past few years, I've found great glasses from Lookmatic, the online eyewear shop. Usually I choose black or brown colors, but when they recently launched a collection of white, black and pink glasses, I was inspired to try something brighter. In the end, the New Yorker in me couldn't help choosing black glasses—but these had a fun splash of pink.

Would you wear colorful glasses? Or do you stick with neutrals?
P.S. My trusty tortoise pair.

(Photos by my new friend Laure Joliet during lunch. Lookmatic is one of my beloved sponsors. Toby's Michigan T-shirt is from The Mitten State)

  42. Very nice :)
I 'd love to have more interesting glasses but I have a very small face so I'm always limited by choice. There's usually black or tortoiseshell and not much else. Last time I did manage to find a dark blue pair that fit and it's been so nice to wear something a little more colorful - although they're so dark they're almost black!
My 6 year old daughter also wears glasses and she always has something in a bright color which is pretty cute. She has a few different pairs so she can switch it up whenever she wants :)

I was dubious about ordering online without actually trying them on (virtual try-on aside) but I LOVE them. I get so many compliments and wearing my glasses is finally part of my "look", not just a tragic necessity. And so cheap!

Anyway, to summarize: excellent sponsor :)

  55. I love this post. I wore black or brown glasses for ever. Then I found a fun pair of red glasses that I couldn't resist. I still love them and am coming up on needing a new pair. I am not sure what I will get this time but I am hoping to find something with some color. Some one actually told me that my red glasses are like my signature. I had never thought of it that way. It make me like them even more.

  56. I used to only do neutrals, but just last year I got green glasses. I got them from warby parker. They sent 5 pairs for me to try, and the green looked best. When choosing the 5, I choose a lot of different ones and was glad I did.

  59. I've been wearing red glasses for years - almost literally the same pair. Years ago I had them in metal and then they were reissued in plastic and I bought them again to replace the tortoiseshell glasses I had been wearing at the time.

The glasses are from Lafont, the French line. As a New Yorker in finance, I wear way too much black and gray to wearing wear colored glasses.

  61. I have green and purple ombre glasses right now because they make the green in my hazel eyes stand out a little more, but I've been wanting to switch to black glasses for 3 or 4 years now. I've changed since I bought the last pair, and God, what an expensive change it is. But I love the pink behind the black, I think it's a very subtle pop of color and I wouldn't be opposed to trying some with purple inside! xx
