The new shop Lil' Cake Toppers launched today. Aren't the custom cake toppers adorable? I love that she represents different ethnicities and backgrounds. xo

P.S. My sister wore a sari at her wedding!

  18. Oh my, this is so cute, Joanna!

But I was very sad to hear that the artist doesn't paint animals. The puppy topper she did was amazing! I would love to have all my dogs as cake toppers! (I'm not getting married, but some day... :) )

  19. Love these! I LOVE to flyfish, so my wedding topper was a bride with a fishing rod reeling in her groom by the seat of his pants. Totally cheesy, but fitting :-)

  34. No, these are copying another artist's work. It's so sad that artists have no way to protect their pieces. Unless I'm missing something, this is terrible.

I'm disappointed that this business got the promo push from Cup of Jo when other craftspeople have been trying to build a business from this concept for years.

  56. I love LOVE love seeing different cultures represented in mainstream American wedding merchandise. As more and more second/first-generation Americans marry, it is lovely to see the blending of cultures and important for businesses to facilitate that.

Also, I agree that this is not the first company by far to produce similar products, whether the design or diversity, but the impact of advertising and competition between any enterprises, even if artistically based, is part of capitalism! (although I respect copyrights!)

I saw these here years ago and have wanted to order them since. But this is a different store? http://www.sending-postcards.com/2009/09/we-are-peggies.html Looks like Urban Outfitters were right, it's not only big stores that rip off independent artists. :(

The Indian couple would be PERFECT for me if I were getting married. Even the sari colour is dead on! A white sari with red and gold border is what is traditional for us. Hahha since I won't be getting married for a LONG time maybe I should stock up on one piece now itself?

  63. So, I do not actually believe it is likely to work.
