Heart brownies

How sweet is this idea for brownies? (You could do it with letters, too.)

P.S. And thank you so much for all your amazingly honest and touching comments on Monday's post. xoxo

  24. they are sweet.

I didn't see your post on Monday but yes, especially knowing I was going to be a single parent, I really thought I would do better with a girl. I had girl names picked out since I was about 7. I have 4 sisters...had no idea what to do with a boy. but...I do know I am not the most patient with little girl theatrics and my son is dramatic enough. I still feel badly that he doesn't have a father but we have some close family friends that the husband is like a father figure to him and I love my little one without reason. I can't imagine him being a girl.

I did read a few books and still have a few more about boys - the wonder of boys is one - that I want to read. but, especially, when they are young...I think that loving is the best thing you can do. providing a secure, nurturing, learning environment. especially when young kids are pretty gender neutral (see the big brohaha going on about the little boy in the jcrew catalogue with pink toenails).

the funny thing is, my sister had a girl and wanted another...and had twins, boy and girl. she cried and cried about that. but her son is more like her than her girls, very sensitive and such and she understands him better than her girls so really...I think that is most important...the personality rather than the gender.
